⭐ FIVE STARS. ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC EXPERIENCE. ⭐ I just picked up my new BYD Dolphin Surf, and I cannot recommend the team at BYD Royston (near Cambridge) enough. To set the scene — we originally tried to order our car from another dealer (Milton Keynes), and the experience was dreadful. They made big promises about delivery within a week… three weeks later, nothing had happened. When I went in to confront them, I found out the car hadn’t even been ordered — it was still sitting in China, waiting to ship! 😠 Frustrated and disappointed, I went searching for a dealer who could actually deliver. That’s when I found BYD Royston. From the very first contact, they were leagues apart. I emailed them with the spec I was after, and they replied almost immediately to say they had one in the showroom. I’ll admit I was a little hesitant about buying a showroom car, but decided to visit them that Saturday — and I’m so glad I did. 🚗 The showroom is spotless, spacious, and modern — a totally different feel from the chaotic experience we had in Milton Keynes. We were greeted warmly as soon as we stepped inside. Multiple staff checked in with us while we were browsing — not pushy at all, just genuinely friendly and helpful. “Would you like a drink?” was offered more than once while we sat comfortably in their customer lounge. Then we met James Ali, who had seen our email and was ready to talk. We explained the situation with the other dealer, and he listened. No sales patter, no pressure. Just straight professionalism. We told him what we’d previously been offered — price, extras, everything — and he matched it without hesitation. 💯 The whole conversation was relaxed and transparent, which gave us real confidence that we were in the right hands this time. By the end of the meeting, we’d placed a deposit. The car would be ready for collection in three days — and it was! 🙌 From there, the customer service didn’t stop. We had regular email updates, the BYD app was already pre-configured by them (so I could track the car as it was being prepped), and everything was smooth and seamless. On collection day, James was off, but he had fully briefed another colleague. Paperwork was minimal (as most had been done in advance), and we even had a little “unveiling” of the car before they brought it out for us. A lovely touch. 👏 Honestly, BYD Royston is one of the best car dealerships I’ve ever dealt with. The staff are professional, friendly, and clearly focused on customer service, not hard-selling. They want you to come back — and we will, without question, when the PCP ends in three years. If you’re thinking of buying a BYD — skip Milton Keynes and go straight to Royston. You won’t regret it. Visited BYD Mantles Royston on Friday 4 July and bought a Mini Cooper S Electric Level 2. Jonathan (Bassett) was friendly, attentive and great at explaining everything and took us on a test drive. Jonathan then passed us over to his manager, Mo (Miah) who gave us exceptional service and did everything he could so we could collect the car the next day (Saturday)! I recently bought a 21-plate Honda Civic from BYD Royston’s used car department, and I can honestly say it was one of the best car buying experiences I’ve had. In the past, I’ve dealt with my fair share of bad experiences buying used cars. I’ve been misled about faults, pressured into extras, given poor after-sales support, and even told to lie to warranty companies, so naturally, I expected more of the same. I thought I’d be sitting around for hours, being passed between desks, and walking away feeling unsure or disappointed. But Jamie at BYD Royston completely changed that! From the moment we walked in we was greeted by a Robot! and Jamie. he was friendly, professional, and genuinely helpful. There was no pressure, no sales tactics just honest, clear information and support throughout the entire process. I test drove two Civics, a red one and a blue one, and was given the time and space to make the choice that felt right for me. I chose the blue Civic, and I’m so glad I did. Before I even test drove the car, the tyres and brakes had already been replaced — which really shows the level of care BYD puts into their cars. The car itself is spotless, drives beautifully, and came with 3 months warranty for peace of mind. Jamie made the whole experience easy and stress-free. He went through everything I needed to know, explained all the paperwork clearly, and didn’t try to sell me anything extra I didn’t need. We were looked after from start to finish. After being made extremely welcome in the dealership and offered a test drive. We took out the ATTO3 and instantly feel in love with it. We liked the vehicle so much, we ended up buying one. Popped in last week to look at a used XC60, we quickly discovered it wasn't the car for us. Braydon (sorry if I spelt it wrong) then shown us the new seal udmi and it was perfect he booked us in for a test drive and as we was early took time to show us other cars. There was no pressure, no force sell just tell me what you liked and disliked and I'll see what we have.
