In early 2017 a strategic decision was made to downsize the business by selling the Biggleswade site for re-development into a 70 bed Care Home. It was decided to relinquish the Ford and Mitsubishi franchises and apply more focus to the growing and highly successful Kia brand.
This new more focused approach, with a single brand and dealership, proved to be an instant success as Mantles Kia (Royston) were awarded the accolade of UK Dealer of the Year in 2016/17. This was also followed by the covetous Kia Customer Experience Award, which is only awarded to the top 10% of the Kia network each year, in 2016, 2017, 2019 and 2020.
The above success was despite having a catastrophic fire at the end of 2017, whilst attempting to carry out a major showroom extension. The fire completely destroyed the dealership and led to the building of a brand-new state-of-the-art facility that opened its doors to the public in January 2019. The new Royston dealership boasts even better facilities for both staff and customers.
