The Company was founded in 1920 in Biggleswade by Ben Mantle. Over the years it has held franchises for Austin, Morris, Riley, Wolseley, MG, Standard, Triumph and Rover. In 1953 Ben’s son Ian Mantle diversified and formed Mantles Caravans. This business expanded and the Company became significant caravan retailers and mobile home site operators.
Representing the third generation, John Mantle (Ian’s son) now heads up the business. The addition of new dealerships in Royston and Letchworth further expanded the car business which now proudly represents Ford, Mitsubishi, Kia and
MG.
